The arts are driving economic revitalization in cities large and small, from Yonkers to Buffalo. In rural areas, the arts are infusing new life into downtowns, boosting tourism, and helping communities to develop appealing and distinctive identities.
The Arts = Jobs
All tolled, New York is home to 52,451 arts-related businesses that Employ 314,099 people. The creative industries account for 5.1 per cent of the total number of businesses.
