Arts Day in Albany

February 27, 2013

Arts NYS Coalition called on members of the New York State Legislators to increase New York State Council on the Arts’ (NYSCA) budget by $4 million over the amount Governor Andrew Cuomo included in his proposed budget. The Governor allocated $41,683,000 to NYSCA in FY 2013, level with the agency’s current funding. We point out that the agency’s budget was $55,066,000 in 2007-08, over $13 million more than the current allocation. View photos of Arts Day in Albany here.

The grants NYSCA awards to nonprofit arts and cultural groups promote economic vitality.  The economic impact of the non-profit arts and cultural sectors proves this: http://artsnys.org/economic-impact-of-the-arts
